Dear Diary,

The island is taking some getting used to, but I’m getting the hang of it. The shelters are coming along. As for rescue, we would could have been rescued if it weren’t for Jack. You know how one of Jack’s jobs is to keep the fire going? Well, guess what? He didn’t. He just had to go hunting, surprise, surprise. Although this time he actually got a pig. Because of Jack, the ship didn’t see us. There was no smoke. The littluns aren’t doing much. I’m not super mad at them because they’re little. They’re just hanging out on the beach, making sand castles, poke around at crabs, being the complete opposite of blatant and just living the life I wish I could live right now.

Jack is an obsessed hunter. He made all of the hunters decorate their faces. They looked ridiculous. I understood that Jack wanted to catch something, but at this point the was acting desperate. Jack obviously wants respect.

Since Jack caught a pig, we all got meat. Although right now, Piggy and Jack are in a horrible friendship crisis. Jack took out his anger that I gave him to Piggy. Jack has an attitude of belligerence and hostility. I bet Piggy had an entire gout of tears in him. Jack was so rude, he broke a side of Piggy’s specks. I’m angry at Jack, his group and my group are splitting up. Jack is so impalpable, I don’t understand him.

Keep you posted,
Ralph

Lord Of the Flies
“Food or Home?
Perspective: Jack

Dear Diary,
Today Ralph and I got in a fight and we’ve been having our vicissitudes. I’ve been trying to be a good hunter and been hunting! I just can’t seem to catch or kill anything. Ralph thinks that I should stop hunting and help make shelters! It’s so annoying because we need meat to survive. He also thinks that shelter is more important! Of course he would know, he’s rapt in it. Meat is more important because we need it to survive. We need protein and its one of my compulsions to hunt. It’s definitely not my fault that none of the other boys want to help make the shelters even thought it's they're job. The other hunters are not doing anything either. I’m personally just doing my job. I’m also keeping the fire going. Anyways, Ralph also says that we need to protect the little ones from the beast, that would be another reason why we need shelter. Ralph is inscrutable: at least to me.

I think the most important job to survive is haunting. I’m pretty sure no one wants to starve or get a lack of nutrients. If we eat meat, then we’ll continue being strong. Being strong is very important. We’ll need the strength to hunt and to take care of the little ones. We all need to act like adults.

Simon has been very interesting lately. He walked into the forest with tendril plants. He went by himself instead of going to take a bathe. Here Diary, I’ll explain how he looks; skinny, dark hair, wears worn out shorts, and is not very tall.

I hope we’re rescued soon. So far, things aren’t going very well. The shelters that we have so far are shaky, and I still haven’t caught any meat. Many kids aren’t helping either. I hope we don’t suffer!

Sincerely,
Jack.

Lord of The Flies "Not scared of a Beastie." Perspective of: Simon. blog #2

Lord of The Flies
"Not scared of a Beastie."
Perspective of: Simon.

Dear Diary,
I finally got back from an adventure with Ralph and Jack! We were in charge of finding out if we were on an island or not. It turns out, we really are on an island. We’re on an island surrounded by coral. Once we found out we immediately went to tell the others. On the way back, we saw a wild pig! That is definitely a good sign! This island may be good, we have food. But I hope nothing gets out of control. I will go officious if it does get out of control.

As soon as Ralph, jack and I got back we told everyone we were on an island. Everyone was in shock. Of course, if we were on an island, none would ever find us! But then Ralph goes and starts blabbing about how his dad will rescue us.
with being on an island, as I may have mentioned before, diary, Ralph is the chief of the island. But we have come up with a new rule. Whomever holds the conch in their possession, has the right to speak and everyone must listen. If you don’t have this conch, then you can’t speak. However, if the conch isn’t around, then anyone can talk as much as they would like. When we got back there was also a little boy with a scar on his face; crying with a sign of martyred on his face. He was saying that there was a beastie. I think it is a snake. If there is a beast, Jack is going to kill it. I’m not afraid of the beast, I’m a hunter, what is there to be afraid of? I’m so brave I could caper and kill the beast.
I want to be rescued! Let’s hope that someone comes soon. I do have a bad feeling about being here with no adults, things are likely to get out of control. For example, we were all making a fire so that an airplane would see the smoke. We pinched Piggy’s specks to make a flame and then we were all putting dead wood. The fire got completely out of control, and now the entire island is going to be caught on fire! I started complaining that Piggy wasn’t doing anything, and Ralph defended him. He kept saying that if it weren’t for Piggy’s specks then we wouldn’t have a fire. Everyone was making a fire not needing to be induced. Another problem, was that every time Piggy had the conch, no one would listen to him. That is other boys are definitely being errant.

I am afraid, diary. I hope the entire island doesn’t catch on fire. I hope we’re rescued soon. I’ll try to keep you updated.
Yours Sincerely,
Simon.

Lord of the Flies Chapter 1 - The Sound of the Shell

Lord of the Flies
Chapter 1 - The Sound of the Shell
“No Grown-ups?”
Perspective: Piggy

Dear Diary,
Today was incredulous. I was eating cookies peacefully in the airplane seat, when as soon as I notice, our plane crashes! I decided to leave my cookies and walk out quickly, considering I can’t run due to my asthma. I notice another boy, Ralph. He had a pallor face and seemed nice. He didn’t ask me what my name was, so I just decided to tell him. We decided to explore the area where we crashed. There were fronds everywhere, full of glamour and intricacies. We also found a nice spot, where there was a platform. There was also a small lake, we both decided to go in! The water was so warm, I felt like I was in hot fudge. While we were on the shore, Ralph found a suffusion in the water. He decided to go and get it. It was a conch shell! Never in my life, had I dreamt of finding one. I told Ralph that we might be able to call others with it. Ralph decided to blow it, and it made a noise of great enormity. Plenty of kids came, coming from every angle. Soon there was a boy named Jack and Simon. Jack was extremely bossy and never smiled. And Simon faints a lot. Guess I’m not the only “freak.” Jack is very dominant, probably because he is the leader of the choir. But the person that had the conch shell, had the power because they can call everyone. I am so proud of Ralph because he became chief. He became chief mostly because of the fact that he had the conch. The last thing that happened was the most devastating. Ralph became the chief of the land, he chose Simon and Jack to go on an expedition to find out if we were on an island. Instead of me. It was a slap in the face. Did I mention there were no adults? I want my Auntie! I’ll write to you as soon as I can Auntie!
